HEAR YOU BY. JERMAINE STEVENSON

Listen to yourself
acting so bold
ignoring a telling to which you were told
you now see that the telling was right
you learned it the hard way and lost sight of the light
listen to yourself chatter a tune
a cry only you hear in days bloom
Night comes a height and day sets away
you hear your voice fading with the day
vicious moon shines on your dismay
hear yourself drive away
sleep you fell
good night you
hear you gone, nothing you.
